report the amount, date received, and the donor’s name and address. If
single or cumulative contributions received from the same individual
total $100.01 or more, the donor's occupation, employer and principal
place of business (address) must also be recorded and reported. Also,
all donations over $20 must be done via a written instrument (eg. check,
money order, credit card). Please include the required information with
your donation.
Contributions are not tax deductible for Federal Income Tax
purposes. Contributions from corporations, joint stock companies, labor
organizations, Indian tribes, casino interest holders, casino supplier
licensee interest holders, and foreign nationals without permanent
residency status (“green cards”) are prohibited. Michigan election law
(MCL 169.252) allows individuals, including lawyers, to make a
contribution of up to $3,400. However, as to lawyers, Canon 7 of the
Michigan Code of Judicial Conduct prohibits a judicial campaign
committee from soliciting more than $100 per lawyer per candidate. If
